Edukasi Bioinformatika Dasar untuk Siswa SMA di SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta

The rapid development of science and technology requires the ability of society, especially younger generation, to enrich their knowledge and skills. Education in bioinformatics for high school student aimed to increase their ability to adapt with the trends in genetic and biotechnology. This basic bioinformatics education conducted at SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta that attended by 16 participants including students, teachers, and PPG pra-jabatan student from the university. The activity was carried in three main stages, namely preparation, implementation, and reporting. The activity went very well since the participants were actively discuss and did the hands-on simulation in accessing database and processing data with sequence alignment. New experiences and knowledge about bioinformatics were expected to support both students and teachers to better understanding one of the biology data analyses and help them with their future in classroom lesson and research.
