Abstract
The penetration of foreign cultures supported by the power of capital makes the younger generation's attention shift away from local cultures such as wayang kulit (shadow puppets). Local culture is considered incompatible with current trends, and language gaps affect the acceptance of wayang by the younger generation. The government supports the preservation of wayang by establishing a National Puppet Day. Meanwhile, through various training sessions, Omah Wayang Klaten empowers people interested in gamelan, puppeteers, and wayang. Various collections of wayang kulit, the primary tool in their activities, are tens or even hundreds of years old, so they deserve to be preserved. Digital documentation of the wayang kulit collection is an activity of the community empowerment team to support the preservation of local culture. This diffusion of science and technology resulted in a collection of highquality wayang kulit photos and descriptions of each wayang kulit to support the formation of wayang domain knowledge.
