Abstract
Cooking oil is essential for households and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including in Kalisalak Village, Batang District, Batang Regency. The daily cooking oil consumption in Kalisalak Village reaches Rp20.789 per capita per month, contributed by the population's daily consumption and the Pujasalika culinary center (Shopping Center for Friends of the Environment of Kalisalak). This condition will potentially produce cooking oil liquid waste of 709.94 liters. Used cooking oil, which poses a dangerous threat to health and the environment, is a crucial problem for the community. On the other hand, the community does not yet know the importance of processing used cooking oil waste and the economic potential of innovative used cooking oil products. The dedication team from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Semarang State University, initiated training on processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles to provide comprehensive solutions to alleviating environmental and health problems due to used cooking oil while building a circular economy concept in Kalisalak Village. The dedication team conducted a workshop in the form of a presentation on the importance of liquid waste processing, training on processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles, and assistance in marketing processed products at Pujasalika. The results of the training and mentoring show that the Kalisalak Village community represented by the PKK group has realized the importance of waste management, can independently produce aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil, and understands good product marketing, such as calculating the product's price and mouth marketing. Through the results of this service, the service team hopes that awareness of waste management and circular economy implementation can expand in Kalisalak Village and other villages.
